“2011 Technology Incubator of the Year”
by the National Business Incubation Association,
representing 66 nations and over 7000 incubators!

2B Solutions
2B Solutions recently completed its seventh year with the annual American Film Market, the largest independent film event in North America.  The company’s work on this project was highlighted in a recent Birmingham News article.  Earlier this year, 2B Solutions completed inventory tracking projects for the 9/11 Memorial Museum and Historic Scotland.  And 2B Solutions just recently agreed to partner with UAB Health System on an integrated marketing solution using Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Advanced Skin Technology
Advanced Skin Technology is releasing its new acne treatment called Unagel. Unagel uses a proprietary form of salicylic acid which has been clinically proven to unclog spores and exfoliate the skin. Most acne treatments on the market today, though effective, can be very difficult for most patients to tolerate. Unagel’s technology can achieve results with minimal to no irritation which ensures better patient compliance.

Atlas RFID Solutions
Atlas RFID Solutions has been awarded a new contract valued at over $1.1 Million with Bantrel Corporation, a leading Canadian engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company.  Atlas’ contract is to deploy its proprietary jobsite asset tracking solution, Jovix™, on a large project being performed by Bantrel for ConocoPhillips, namely, the Surmont Phase 2 project in the Oil Sands region of Alberta, Canada.

Big City Docs, LLC, parent company to local healthcare website BirminghamDoctors.com, recently closed a round of investment capital with New Capital Partners / Waveland.  The funds will be used to expand the Birmingham market, introduce real-time online appointment setting, and lay the foundation for growth into new markets.

Eco Three
Eco Three has finalized a structured agreement with Alagasco to help customers make their homes more energy efficient.  Eco Three will be able to provide Alagasco customers with energy evaluations and energy efficient home upgrades.  This new agreement will allow Alagasco customers to put these improvements on their actual gas bill.  Visit www.alagasco.com for more information on the program.

FreeTextbooks.com recently hired Trey Jackson, a 2010 Auburn graduate, and added Clemson, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Florida & Florida State to the universities we serve.  These new universities will increase the company’s market share dramatically and add 30% to revenues by February 2012.

Integrated Media Systems
Integrated Media Systems (IMS) has created a new company, Scarecrow Security, to better service its security business, including burglar alarms, access control and closed circuit television.   Additionally, IMS has provided installation of electronic systems for Tie National Accounts, who provides equipment specifications and installations for Massage Envy and European Wax centers among others.  IMS has also been chosen as the exclusive installation company for Adit4less, a new and ground-breaking digital signage company located in the Innovation Depot.

Motus is wrapping up testing on its line of comfortable American sportbikes and preparing for 2012 production. The MST series of motorcycles will be sold through a network of 25 US dealers awaiting their first shipments now.

PointClear Solutions
PointClear Solutions is continuing its positive growth strategy in 2011 including the addition of our new Chief Medical Information Officer, Rodney Hamilton M.D. to run our Product Strategy Practice, which has been very well received by our customer base.  Our User Experience and Technology Practices continue to grow as well with many new Healthcare and Public Health engagements including several new commercial and government contracts with the CDC and the VA.  PointClear’s team will exceed 40 persons by year’s end with projects from coast to coast.

Remtech
REMTECH is expanding their Financial Literacy Curriculum (TimeMAPS) to aid Alabama School Systems not only fulfill, but exceed the current Alabama High School Graduation Requirements.  REMTECH has been working with Jefferson County School System Curriculum Specialists and Administration to further integrate the TimeMAPS  Financial Literacy Curriculum into 2 courses required for high school graduation beginning Jan. 2012.  This particular project will be utilized by over 5,500 students within the Jefferson County School System with the hopes of reaching every high school student before graduation.

Slade LETP
L'Tryce Slade, Managing Member of Slade Land Use, Environmental, and Transportation Planning (Slade LETP) was accepted into the Tuck-WBENC Executive Program for October 2nd-7th, 2011. The Tuck School is the first graduate school of management.  Additionally, Ms. Slade served as a volunteer member of the Steering Committee for the Pratt Community Regional Urban Design Assistance Team (PC RUDAT) involved with Landscape & Ecology and the Community Outreach Subcommittees charged with helping Pratt City rebuild after the deadly tornadoes of April 27, 2011.

Vaxin
Vaxin Inc. announced that they were awarded a contract from BARDA (Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority) to advance their AdVAV Anthrax Vaccine candidate through first in man testing. This contract, including options, is valued at up to $21.7M over four years. In addition, Vaxin has recently received a three year grant of approximately $1M from the Found Animals Foundation (FAF) to work with their collaborators at Auburn University to advance a vaccine to sterilize dogs and cats. FAF has also taken an option to an exclusive worldwide license to market and sell this vaccine.

VIPAAR
VIPAAR participated in the Army Expeditionary Warfighter Experiment (AEWE)’s Spiral G at Fort Benning, GA, culminating in three weeks of live force on force missions in October and November 2011. The November 14, 2011, edition of Army Times reported soldier reviews of VIPAAR’s Virtual Interactive Presence (VIP) as 4 stars (“would take it on a mission”). “The ability to reach back from remotely deployed locations when critical needs arise and bring expertise forward can save time and money when compared to a dispatching a repair team, specialized personal, and a supporting force,” said VIPAAR CEO Drew Deaton.
