The Birmingham Venture Club’s Entrepreneur Accelerator Program was established in 2004. Our mission is:
“To equip the most promising entrepreneurs in the Birmingham area with the knowledge, access to resources and ongoing mentoring relationships that are essential to establishing and rapidly growing successful businesses.”
As the mission statement reflects, this program is designed to help maximize the likelihood that our community’s most promising entrepreneurs will establish and build successful companies. One might call this program a “boot camp” for entrepreneurs. However, that phrase does not fully capture the goals of the program. In addition to the educational training that most “boot camps” provide, we intend to pool our community’s resources to provide class members with access to the resources they will need to build a successful business and a mentoring team that will be available to assist them in growing their business following their graduation from the program.
While the program is not limited by industry, we anticipate that most class members will be working in “high growth” industries in the Birmingham area. We define “entrepreneurs” broadly to include founders of companies, individuals who are planning start-up businesses, and other individuals who have high potential to play key roles in building successful businesses.
